The stage has certainly been set for the busy summer selling season. April saw closings increase 11.2% from March, and sales have continued to increase since February. Simultaneously new listings have increased 6.3%, which in turn boosted the number of homes for sale by the same amount. Three more noteworthy highlights from April’s National Housing Report: |
1) Houses spent 34 days on the market on average – a five day drop from March. 2) April’s median sales price of $437,000 was 2.9% higher than March. 3) The higher price was fueled by buyers paying 100% of the listing price on average. |
With the average price the highest it’s been in over two years, the busy homebuying season is off to a great start. You can read the full report by clicking here.
