Chris Murray

Chris Murray is a California Real Estate Broker, co-owner of REMAX Empire Properties and co-leader of The Murray Team with his wife and business partner, Andrea Murray. Chris and Andrea and The Murray Team have helped clients buy and sell more than 4,000 homes throughout Southern California.

Chris has built his career primarily representing homeowners and has extensive experience throughout Riverside County, the Inland Empire and surrounding Southern California markets. His experience includes traditional home sales, probate and inherited properties, senior transitions and downsizing, relocation, short sales, foreclosure situations, REO and institutional properties, investment properties, luxury homes and properties with acreage.

From Martial Arts to Real Estate

Chris was born on Long Island, New York, and moved to Southern California in the mid-1980s, where he has lived ever since. Before entering real estate, Chris was a world-class martial artist and spent more than six years teaching martial arts. During that time, his school won three national championships.

After winning back-to-back national championships, Chris decided in late 2000 to pursue a career in real estate. While studying to become a real estate agent, he worked for The Mike Ferry Organization, one of the real estate industry's best-known sales training organizations. That experience helped Chris develop the prospecting, negotiation, pricing and sales skills that would become an important part of his real estate career.

Building The Murray Team

Chris began building his real estate business in the Inland Empire in the early 2000s. He and Andrea established themselves in the Hemet and San Jacinto Valley, where they have helped clients buy and sell more than 1,200 homes, before expanding The Murray Team's reach throughout Riverside County and surrounding Southern California markets.

Today, Chris and Andrea are the broker-owners of REMAX Empire Properties in Murrieta, and Chris continues to lead The Murray Team's listing business. The team works throughout Southwest Riverside County, the Inland Empire and surrounding Southern California communities.

National Real Estate Recognition

Chris earned significant individual recognition from The Wall Street Journal and RealTrends during his career as an individual real estate agent. He was ranked the #1 individual agent in Riverside County by RealTrends from 2013 through 2017 and was ranked #214 among individual real estate agents in the United States in 2018.

After becoming a broker-owner and transitioning into a team structure, Chris and The Murray Team continued earning recognition from RealTrends and REMAX at the California, national and international levels.

Chris has also earned some of REMAX's highest career honors, including the REMAX Circle of Legends and the REMAX Luminary of Distinction.

A Listing-Focused Real Estate Broker

Chris has a college degree in Real Estate and continues to study market conditions, real estate trends, negotiation and the changing ways homes are marketed and sold. He is particularly focused on interpreting market data and using that information to help homeowners make informed decisions about pricing and timing.

For sellers, Chris's approach begins with the property and the data. He evaluates comparable sales, current competition, property condition and market activity before suggesting a list price and marketing strategy.

Depending on the property, The Murray Team's marketing can include professional photography, drone photography, 3D tours, floor plans, property websites, online marketing, social media, neighborhood outreach and extensive MLS exposure. Over more than two decades, the team's listings have sold for an average of 101.3% of their original list price.

Chris also has extensive experience with more complicated real estate situations, including probate and inherited homes, foreclosure and short-sale situations, REO and institutional properties, senior transitions, relocation, investment properties and homes that need to be sold as-is.
